I unsubscribed from step counts.

This has been grinding my gears for sooo many years and honestly really mucked with my mind 😢 Stories of…. “if I don’t get 7-10k steps in per day, I haven’t done enough (to BE enough!)” AND even more so “I haven’t done enough, I’m now worried I will gain weight!!!”

This is one of MANY ways Human Design has truly saved me, it has validated what I already knew within me, I was never meant to be counting my steps or trying to do X amount in a day…

You see, step counts were made for a Generator world.

Generators and Manifesting Generators make up around 70% of the population and for you energy types hitting a daily step count makes total sense because you are literally designed to expend your energy every day. You should hit the pillow at night feeling completely spent, satisfied, emptied out in the best way. That is literally how you access your life force & how you sleep really well and feel good overall. It works beautifully for you.

But for a Projector like me (or if you’re a Manifestor or Reflector), it can do more harm than good😮‍💨

We are what’s called a non-energy type and we function completely differently. We don't have access to this consistent, sustainable energy the way Generators & Manifesting Generator’s do. Our energy naturally ebbs and flows and when we ignore that and try to keep up with a world designed for a different type, we end up burnt out, deflated and completely disconnected from ourselves.

This does not mean we aren't meant to move our bodies. Moving is essential, it is how we access life force and feel alive as humans, but for us it looks very different. It means to truly check in first and a ctually listen to what our body needs on this particular day, not what an app tells us we should do to have done ”enough”. It is asking oursevels (and being HONEST with ourselves), “what do I have energy for today” and following what our bodies needs. Some days it will be hititng 10 000+ steps in a day, sometimes its doing nothing and sometimes its somewhere in between.

My go to now is just to get out in nature to move my body, to connect with myself, listen to podcasts or do voice notes to my friends because I know it makes me feel so much better, sometimes its the slowest, shortest stroll and sometimes its a powerwalk… and who knows how many steps I’ve, but I am not going out there to reach a certian guideline instead I am connected and listening to my body.

Trying to achieve a ceratin step counts take us out of our bodies and into our minds. It replaces listening with measuring, and for us, that is where it all goes wrong and leads us astray. The goal is never to hit a number, the goal is to feel good in our bodies by listening to what it needs… and you cannot get there by following someone else's guidelines 🫶🏼✨
